Dam Liners, Shade Nets and Irrigation at the Kenyan Coast

Water harvesting and climate-smart farming for Kilifi, Mombasa, Kwale, Taita Taveta and the coast region.

Last Updated: 26 October 2026

Farming at the coast means intense sun, high temperatures, sandy soils that drain quickly and long dry seasons. Harvesting and storing rainwater, then using it efficiently, is the key to growing vegetables and fruit all year in Kilifi, Kwale, Mombasa and Taita Taveta.

Symnet Agro Solutions was founded in Kilifi County, and we have delivered water pan, dam liner and shade net projects across the coast region.

Frequently Asked Questions

What thickness of dam liner do I need?

Most farm water pans use 0.5mm HDPE liner. Stony ground or larger reservoirs need 0.75mm or 1.0mm. We confirm the right thickness during a site survey.

Do dam liners work in sandy coastal soil?

Yes. Sandy soil loses water fast, which is exactly why lining a pond or water pan makes such a difference.

Do you install in Kwale and Taita Taveta?

Yes. We deliver and install across the coast region.
