Fish Ponds & Water Pans in Kaloleni

Kaloleni experiences severe seasonal rainfall followed by extended dry spells. The local sandy-loam soils have extremely high permeability, causing unlined water pans to lose over 85% of captured rainwater to soil seepage within three weeks. High ambient temperatures also accelerated surface evaporation, leaving farming communities and fish farmers with empty basins right when dry season water demand peaked.

Symnet deployed certified geomembrane hot-wedge welding crews equipped with automated dual-track fusion welders. We supplied and installed 0.75mm and 1.0mm virgin high-density polyethylene (HDPE) liners featuring high tear and puncture resistance. Anchoring trenches were excavated around the perimeters to lock the geomembrane firmly against ground movement, and custom 50% UV-stabilized shade nets were suspended over fish pond zones to regulate water temperature and mitigate evaporation.
