Coastal Kilifi suffers from irregular, heavy downpours that quickly drain through porous coral rag soils. The client’s 25-acre citrus and passion fruit orchard was vulnerable to devastating die-back whenever the dry season extended past 90 days without reliable water replenishment.

Symnet engineers designed a 4.2-million-litre parabolic water retention pan. After precision grading and laying a cushioning geotextile underlay, we installed 0.75mm virgin HDPE geomembrane rolls welded seamlessly using dual-track hot-wedge extruders. Every seam underwent air-pressure canal testing to guarantee zero leaks. Anchor trenches were backfilled with compacted marl to prevent edge slippage.
